Duct tape always works great on mine when I am backpacking. I had a couple on my right foot earlier and I popped them with a clean needle and then used duct tape until it healed.

Hello,

Whenever I get a sore or a bad blister, I apply some pure honey to it.  So, when you get settled at night before bed and after a shower, make sure the area is dry and apply a liberal amount of honey over the entire blister. Use a sock to cover the foot and leave the honey on all night and wash off in the morining...sticky of course but it works.  Honey has awesome healing power and usually in 1 to 2 treatments you will notice a vast improvement.
I recommend it to my patients that have non healing sores, it tends to speed things along and does work.

Hope it helps

I just lance with a pin and such, but duct tape is a possibility.  Many years ago I ran across an athlete from Australia that had this magical medicine for blisters.  It essentially dried out and hardened the sore sensitive skin under the skin flap almost immediately into a callus.  I was like 16 years old at the time (26 years ago) and did not catch the name of the medication.  They said that at that time it was not sold over the counter in the US, but who knows now.

When hiking and in adventure races I've used Spenco 2nd skin moist burn pads covered with its bandage and then duct tape to make sure it stays on.  It can be found in many drug stores or online.

Dr. Socks says pop it don't unroof it.  Put some anti biotic ointment on it and put athletic tape over it.  J&J makes some nice blsiter pads too.  The tape/ointment thing is messy but effective.  DOnt try to run with that on tho cause it wil be a mess.  ITs more for when you are not training to get them to heal

Wait until the night before a rest day.  Pop it, peel the skin off, let it air out over the next day.  Done.

I like to give mine a chance to dry out before actually popping it -- on the first night, I soak it in Domeboro (weird vinegar-smelling aluminum solution) for a while, then paint it with povidone iodine and leave it uncovered until the next morning.  Sometimes that does the trick and most of the fluid absorbs back in.  Then I just cover it over with a bandaid until it dries out the rest of the way and turns into a callus.

Usually that doesn't work though.  Plan B involves popping it with a sterilized needle, putting antiseptic on it (please don't use triple antibiotic though -- neomycin is nasty stuff and you can develop allergies to it by overusing neosporin), and covering it over with some kind of bandage.  I am a big fan of Nexcare foam bandages on blisters.  Other people prefer 2nd Skin, or one of the many blister-specific kinds of band-aids.

I just got some pretty bad blisters after my last race (first time to run with no socks).  I popped mine with a pin and drained it.  I then sprayed liquid bandade on it.  I was good to go after 2 days.

Do you mean for just survival, or for racing?  If just for daily use...leave it alone. For racing: lance/drain it; New Skin (2-3 coats); Super Glue (one coat); Body Glide
