Subject: Has anyone gotten a ticket......?
Has anyone ever gotten a ticket for "blitzing" (e.g. running) a stop sign? I am asking because last week during a ride, I blew through a stop sign (of course, after checking for cars) and about half a mile later a police officer rode up and asked if I saw the stop sign. Being polite, I said yes, sir I will stop next time, then he moved on. This got me thinking if anyone ever received a ticket for running one?

I have had several of the SP's on base here tell me to slow down (jokingly) because I was speeding in the 20 mph zones (and a couple of times in the 25 mph zones, but not the 35 mph zones.....yet ).

Yeah, I am actually trying to get a speeding ticket on my bike. I will totally frame that bad boy. The only problem that I have is that the speed limit where I ride is a min of 25, so I will really have to be getting it to receive a ticket.

Personally, No (or probably more appropriately not yet).  I did hear some time ago that folks were getting tickets in the Cartersville area for "blitzing" stop signs.  I actually wish I had more opportunity to think about blowing one off.  Traffic has been so heavy lately, it would mean certain death.

Fortunately, I have never gotten one.  I may be wrong, but it is my understanding that if you get one it counts the same as if you got one in your car and the insurance company counts it against you.  I would really like to hear that is not that case though.

 I meet someone the other day who said they had tickets for running a stop sign in Stone Mountain state park near Atlanta issued by the park police , i think they are over $50 each.

 I think this is not a road either but a park trail with a stop sign.  They stopped riding there due to that. I haven't been riding there so others here may know about it.

I was riding down the highway and was trying to time the redlight ahead so I wouldn't lose my momentum......I just about rear ended the car at the light.....Now that would be a good story to tell!

I know what stop sign they are talking about I bet. It is on the back-side of the 7 mile loop. Basically, the road dead ends and you hang a left but it is at the top of a little uphill so it is easier just to roll through.

I was pulled over at Stone Mountain for rolling through a stop sign.  I was riding it counter clockwise and rolled through the one on the down hill by the village.  The cop didn't write me a ticket but lectured me for about 5 minutes.

I've seen cops at Cartersville conveniently hanging out at stop signs near where the 12miler splits off.
