What's the best place to do a solo 100 miler around LA on the TT bike?

start in santa monica and head north up to Oxnard via PCH.  Turn around when your computer says 50 miles

Well there it is then...this Saturday, I jump on the bike at the SM Pier and will ride 50m North, I will then turn around and return to the pier.

100miles will be done!

x3 - started at Zuma went to Camarillo rode around up there a bit came back and then went out again to Las Posas and came back.  Put the bike in the car and went in the water. That worked out well.

I also did the Irvine to SD and train home that Chris mentioned.  Good times.

Duarte (Encanto) to Seal Beach on San Gabriel River Trail, then down PCH through HB to Newport Bch, then return.  100 miles...70 of it on bike trail.

general directions...

Basically PCH all the way down, diverting at Camp Pendleton. The problem is Long Beach/ Palos Verdes. You can take PCH thru Wilmington, but it's a little sketchy. The earlier the better. The other way is around PV, through Naples to Seal Beach hooking up with PCH in Seal Beach.

From there, PCH through Huntington, Newport, Laguna, Dana Point, San Clemente. South of San Clemente have to go into the San O campground, then at the south end enter Pendleton and part of the Cali 70.3 bike course. South side get back on coast hwy, through Oceanside, Encinitas, Carlsbad, etc to Torrey Pines. (not sure of the order of the cities)

From there I would have to look at a map to get to downtown SD. I've done it, but by following others.
