Subject: RE: I would like a Garmin 305...I just upgraded from the Garmin 201 to the 305. My 201 konked out after almost 5 yrs. You can still buy the 201 and 205's but I think the 305 is the way to go. Plenty of 201's still online and on Ebay. The USB (305) vs. the Serial Port (201) is a big advantage. The 305 is smaller, picks up the signal and holds it a little better. My 201 did not like the water at all. The 305 is more resistant. I am guessing you'll pay approx. $90 for the 305. I paid $191.00 (free shipping) for mine a few weeks ago - fyi. So far, I love it. BUT I love Garmin product. Customer Service has always treated me well. I used my 305 just yesterday for a timed physical fitness test. While everyone else took off way too fast, I knew my exact pace, distance, HR, etc. and my pacing was consistent with my planned run. It helped. Good luck! |
