It says there that the women's tri is going to air on the 18th (Monday) at 10 pm. It's online but not on TV, at least not here. Instead, we get 15 minutes of some 16 year old girl crying because she got 4th place in the vault. (That's not at all a dig against HER - she really took the disappointment quite well. But do I need to watch this on TV?) Oh, and if you don't have one of the more recent operating systems on your computer, you can forget watching it online. Somehow, NBC can't figure out how to stream a video without requiring the most recent operating systems. Maybe they should consult with the porn industry about how to make an online video that anybody can view. Can you tell that I'm bitter? I was looking forward to this for a while now...

And it doesn't look like the NBC coverage here is going to be showing any of it. Talk about a bummer. Hopefully I'll be able to catch some of the men's race. |

We waited til 10pm, then it was 11pm & no tri. Even the stoopid Charter Cable referenced it in the description of the events from 6pm to 11pm.  |

I enjoyed the race without the commentary....Even with Windows XP, the online coverage is sketchy. It re-buffers and pauses a lot. NBC took a big chunk of money from Microsoft to force anyone wanting to watch online to download "Silverlight", which is supposed to be the next coming - I have yet to see that proven to me. It dominates your entire operating system and does not run well unless you have a ton of available memory. I found it frustrating to "watch". Matt Fitgerald (Triathlon Mag) does a commentary blog while the race goes on, but it doesn't match up with the video and is very slow. He said "Wow" and I am looking for a wow moment, but hust see people riding by on their bikes. Hmmmmm. Then I see the wow moment about 2 minutes later. |

Not one pause all night. |
