Subject: Where do you store your stuff...
When competing or training?  (keys, license, etc...)  I tried my shoe but it affects my stride (probably psychological).  But, I am running a 10m this Sunday and dont want to tie my key to my shoe or stick my license in my shoe.  Thoughts?

I try to take everything out of the vehicle and only leave the necessities in the vehicle.  I then tie the key into the shorts if it's a run race.  Tris, I just put it in my bag.

My local running shop sells some very small waist packs just big enough for some keys and a few dollars. I forget the brand name.

I put my car key in either a zipper pocket in my tri suit, in the sports bra of holding, or hang from my dog tags. When I go for a swim In the lake I don't even bother taking my towel down to the water. I just kinda T1/T2 from my car. Better than getting my stuff stolen.

For short training runs I put my house key in a key rock under a fern (not telling which one and my ID in my shorts pocket, long runs I have a fuel belt with a pocket on anyway.  During a race I leave most of my stuff (except my pre-race music player) stashed in my truck out of sight, keys in my transition bag. Once I'm number marked I figure if I collapse they'll be able to ID me.

You could get one of those magnetic key holders for your wheel well and just make sure no one sees where you stick it too.  I've heard of that.  My feet blister pretty easilly so I've never tried putting anything in my shoes.

if i run close to home, i use just a spare house key and slip a shoe string through the key before i tie my shoes (tuck the main part of the key between laces and shoe tongue) When I trail run i bought shorts that have a zipper pouch that's just above my butt so i can put the cumbersome auto lock car key and house key into the pouch. i dont worry about my cell or license.

on rides i have cycling jerseys and just tuck the phone and keys into one of the three pouches on my back.

i always pool swim so i have no need to take anything with me into the pool.

If I OWS I do it early morning.  If there are other people there they're in the same boat.  I leave my bag close to the water. Then when I bike, I have a a small bag on my bike that holds my wallet and just my car key.

During my tri, I left my bag in the transition area.  Someone did touch it.  When I got home there was and extra swim cap and a pair of goggles.

I'm naive. I believe nobody will bother my stuff. If there was a crook, he'd have to be dumb to think a 40yo driving a mini van would have anything of much value.

LOL!  I always wonder about stuff obviously left in the wrong spot in transition.  They have to realize they aren't in the right place when they can't find their bike or running shoes.  I came in last race and there was a bike standing there with a kickstand crammed between two bikes on the rack across from me that wasn't there before the race started.  Did he do the run barefoot?

During training, my truck keys go in my shoe laces or on the litle key pocket that some of my running shorts have. for Identification,  I use my RoadID.

On race day, my wife hangs on to my wallet and keys

x3 on the spibelt.  For training runs, I can throw in my cell phone and house keys and maybe a couple of bucks if I am planning a long run where I would want to stop for some hydration.  It's also handy for running local 5-10K's where I only need to keep the race number and car keys.

When we go to for OWS at Lake Mead by the Hoover Dam there are lots of people and kids around.  I found a great lock at Home Depot that is like what real estate people use on doors to hide the house keys.  It opens and holds quite a bit of stuff and then locks around something.  I used to try hiding the key under a rock under the car, but thought the kids were watching.

I would take my key on the swim, but it the kind that has the door locks and alarm in the fob.
