Subject: Spinal Stenosis
I'm 36 and have osteoarthritis in my spine and spinal stenosis. Good news is my physical therapist is a triathlete and my doctor at the pain management clinic is a runner and a cyclist, she doesn't like to swim. Anyway while my current lifestyle of swimming/biking/running is only going to make things worse they both told me to keep on moving. My doctor at the pain clinic told me there is no way in the world she'd tell me to stop, I'm to keep doing what I'm doing and when the pain gets to be too much to handle give her a call and she'll inject my spine again. Not that I'm looking forward to that but it is better than sitting on the couch doing nothing but getting fat.

anyone else have this problem?

Yup!  I have severe bilateral foraminal stenosis (as well as DDD) at L5/S1 as a result of my grade 2 spondylolisthesis.  All I can say is...I TOTALLY agree with the advice given to you in regards to "keep moving".  For me, it's the only way to manage my pain right now.  From one spiney to another...I feel for ya!
