Pre-race routine:

Light breakfast: few slices of ham, some melon, pineapple, and rice. Banana about an hour before the race.

Event warmup:

Nothing major... walking and light stretching.

Comments:

Started out too quick of a pace.. hit the 2 mile mark at just under 18 minutes and after 25 seconds of walking... too fast considering the hill and the 1.11 miles left to run.

What would you do differently?:

Could've pushed myself a bit harder through some of the walk segments, but overall I'm happy with a sub 30 5K for my first race.
