Subject: RE: Anyone ever experience knee pain after running a mile or two?yup - currently!!!! Mine started in early July - and it ruined the last half of my (first) triathlon season. I am still rehabbing from this (and tennis elbow that I got at the same time!)..... I have spent well over $2000 on physio, chiro, new orthotics...and more recently deep tissue sports massage, in the past 3 months (none of it covered). The ONLY thing that made any difference for me was the massage - I am hooked now and go every two weeks. It hurts like h-e-l-l though - brings tears to my eyes! I tried ART and GRASTON for about 6-8 weeks at my chiro - did nothing - actually things got worse....at the beginning I could run 14-17 minutes before knee pain....stop running and pain went away....by 6-8 weeks I could only run about 8-10 minutes max and my knee pain would linger for days.... The past 3 or 4 weeks I have been running 15-20 minutes with no knee pain - I have not tested my knee(s) - it is both for me although right is worse - further because I am not in a real hurry to be having knee pain again...and I am not doing any more races until next year anyway....so don't need or want to push it. eta: and yes it was ITBS for me -and it sure sounds like that is what it is for you too!
