Subject: Ft Lauderdale

Hi Everyone,

I'm coming down for work this week, the stay was supposed to be longer and I wanted to do the Tradewinds Tri but the trip was cut short. Anyway, I should have a chance to get a swim in the ocean from the hotel on Thursday but I'm looking for a short run on Wednesday. I'll be staying on South Ocean Lane. (I don't know the area but I'm willing to taxi it).

Anyone know if the area is nice enough to just run out the door or does anyone have any ideas for a 4 - 5 mile run?

Not sure where South Ocean Lane is...but my guess is, you can just jump on A1A and run along the beach in FtL-can't beat it!! You can find a hill on the 17th Street Causeway. If you are anywhere near Sunrise Blvd, head into Birch State Park for some shade and maybe a manatee sighting. There are currently rip currents, so be careful. If you are in Ft. Lauderdale proper, you can swim at the Aquatic Center there....very nice. Have fun!! It's a bit warmer hear than in NH so drink your fluids
