Subject: RE: Pain above kneeSounds like a quadriceps tendon strain. Try to keep up with the icing and ibuprofen/motrin/or aleve. Squatting exercises are going to hurt the most because the quadriceps tendon connects your quadriceps muscles before it goes around your kneecap and below to insert into the patellar tendon. It all works together. Try doing either double-leg deadlift or single-leg deadlift because they will work more of your gluts and hamstrings, which are probably weaker than your quads right now and creating a muscle imbalance. Other exercises that will help with this imbalance are quad and hip flexor stretches. |
