Subject: Plasma rich therapyHere is a question to any orthopedic surgeons out there.
I just paid visit to my orthopod following up on a healed injury and mentioned my Achilles is hurting - tendonitis. He suggested a new therapy called plasma rich therapy where my blood is drawn, spun and then the platelets are injected directly into the tendon. This is suppose to significantly speed up healing since there is very limited blood flow to tendons.
Has anyone heard of this technique and if so what is your clinical or anecdotal opinion?

I just finished my first IM after just a year and a half of triathlon experience... yea! |
