Wow.. a 70.3 race only 2 hours from home... and with on site parking !  Wonder why they picked a date only a week after Muskoka, considering how geographically close the 2 races are?

There's probably about 12 people on this site that know what your OP means.  This is interesting.  So much for me only doing one HIM next year.  Time to talk to the wife again.

lets fix that--i'll hijack my own thread.

I was a Sophmore in college when this happened.  The 'cuse was by no means picked by anyone to make it past the sweet 16.  sadly al Mcguire passed, and this clip is often replayed during March Madness

I got ticketrs to go to the final four that year, we lost to a NBA loaded Kentuckey team, but it was a time I will always remember.....

I was a senior and by far the craziest 2 weeks I ever saw up there in my 7 years there.

Probably the same weekend as Finger Lakes, about an hour away!  I'm going to have to decide pretty quick guessing that this will probably be a popular race.

I've been saying for some time that there was an opportunity for someone to put on a late season HIM in the upstate area.  Could be a great way to organize a season for those who like this distance. Musselman in July and the 70.3 in Sept.

I don't see this affecting the Finger Lakes tri much if at all. I'm confident both will fill up.

Also, the Cazenovia Oly will be a perfect training race for this. Look for that to possibly sell out for the first time.

So, let's see: June - Keuka Lake Sprint or Oly, July - Musselman, August - Cazenovia Oly, Sept - Syracuse. Add in another Sprint or two and there's my 2010 season.

I agree that there is room for both this and Finger Lakes, the conflict is more personal! Do the one a couple miles down the street or the bigger one an hours drive away!

I might be in for this as well. $5K AG awards??? That may draw some very good AGers in.

I'm totally in for this.  I'm imagining a celebratory dinner with Dinasaur BBQ, salt potatoes, and Heid's conies.  It looks like a great course, too.  I will be crashing at my parent's house a few miles north of the city.  It's a perfect end-of-season race after CdA.

(and I get the 'Cuse is in the House...where is John Wallace now, anyway?)

I beleive he is living in rochester, but not sure.  his son is a beast ont eh hardwoods.....conies and salt potatoes.  When offered, the typical repsonse is "What the hells is that?"  followed by, "let me get another one of those conies"

I try to get a few games in every year with my brother , we weere up there a few weeks ago and saw Johhny Mac on a few commercials, guess it didnt work out overseas for him... Still has best J i have seen in awhile, besides Chrissy Mullin !!

Woo-Hoo!!!!!  I can't wait!!  Now I get to try my legs out for 2, maybe 3, HIMs next season.  And I don't even have to get a hotel room!!

cusetri- do you think you'll be recovered in time to hit it?

Wow that's cool, the Cuse is becoming noticed with some national triathlon series (SommerSports, AFLAC Iron Girls).

I'll have to toss in a Hinderwadel's clambake and Twin Trees pizza!

I grew up in the 'Cuse...I can't wait for this race now!  I think I convinced my brother-in-law, who lives in Liverpool, to try it out too.  Now I'm trying to see when I can come up for a weekend to ride the course.  The run looks like it's going to be rough.  It looks like part of the Mountain Goat course?

Love the Twin Trees!  It's going to be the promise of a post-race food fest that gets me through this training cycle!

If it sells out as quickly as Rhode Island... well... then it won't sell out

I'm suprised nobody's mentioned the $25 in prize money listed on the site

Wow, I am almost tempted by this! So cool to see a big race like this coming to the Syracuse area! Maybe they will have salt potatoes out on the course, lol! Surely I am not the only fan of salt potatoes with all you central NY fans here in this thread.
