Ok so I've done my first tri and I am planning on competing again in the spring.

What now?

I have read and referenced the "tribible" by Friel.  But I am a little uncertain of what exactly I need to do over the winter.  I understand the races for spring will not post until December.

The areas I need to improve on the most are biking, cycling and overall aerobic endurance.

Please point me in the proper direction.

Thanks for the feedback,

Mark

What are your goals for your 2nd race?  To finish or be competitive?  In any case, a solid off-season base build is a step in the right direction. You can accomplish that with a variety of activities. A deep aerobic base is vitally important.

Goals: I want to be better.  I am not to the point that I have false delusions about knocking 45 minutes off my time in one season.

I want to focus on Oly distance races but build up to half IM's and prepair for an IM in 2010.

My biggest limiter with the HIM and IM distance will be a very sensitive plantar in my right foot.

My first race goal was to finish and to do so in under 3 hours.  I finished in 2:53 with almost 10:00 minutes in transition (seven of it in T1 taping my foot to get through the bike and run without dealing severe foot pain)

Swim 29 minutes, Bike 1:20, Run 53 minutes.  The course was pretty hilly, the run was either uphill or downhill... which lends a lot of credibility the artricle about training specific to the race (makes a lot more sense now)

Thanks again for the feedback.
