Subject: For those who have done Miami Man...
I will staying in Fort Lauderdale before/after the race for a short vacation. I am wondering how bad the traffic is on race morning and if I need to stay closer to the race site on the night before the race. The travel time isn't as much an issue to me as is the stress of worrying about getting there in time etc..  I don't see any info about when the transition area opens/closes.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Kathleen

and to answer a couple of questions.  Ft lauderdale will be a far for you.  Bike checkin in mandetory on Saturday if I am not mistaken, so is the pickup of the packet.

bike check in and packet pick up are mandatory the day before...as for traffic at 5-6am on a sunday morning, nothing to worry about.

it will be a long haul from ft laud though...and bring money for tolls, you will have several stops at $1.50 each

as for when you should arrive...last year they gave out parking passes with the race packet that said when you needed to arrive and where in the park you needed to enter....just go by that and you'll be fine.

btw...the HIM goes first so if you're doing the OLY there is plenty of wait time after trans closses to collect yourself and mentaly prepare.

good luck and a big what up to CO!!! I'm from Boulder originaly

Thank you for the info and advice, I really appreciate it. I haven't made any final decisions about where I am going to stay the night before but I think I will reserve a room close bye just incase.
I wish I could be there for the rides you are doing!
Thanks again and Boulder says "hey!"
