Subject: mount front derailleur on equinox frame
Hi,
I have an equinox 9 . The rear derailleur is a dura-ace and the front is a 105 as well as the rest of the group. I am slowly wanting to replace the 105's with dura-ace.

My question is that the front derailleur screws to the down tube, no clamp, what is that mount called ? I have looked at derailleurs on ebay etc but can't seem to identify what I need to look for , all of the items have clamps or a braze on ?.
Anybody out there have an answer for this dummy?
THanks

It's a braze-on mount. Now you know.

why swap?

I highly doubt you'll notice any performance gains from 105 to DA on the front der.  Rear, yeah-but not front.

Thanks for the replies!

I always seem to be "micro shifting" the front derailleur. It always seems to be noisy. I have tweaked the limits etc but have never been 100% successful.
I am no great mechanic and even worse cyclist. I was just hoping for some type of improvemnt.

Do you guys know how to identify the model number on the rear derailleur?

any other info would be apprecitiated!

Thanks again !
