9/6/09

I am proud to announce that Pete and Kathy Alfino of Mile High Multisport will be hosting a swim race on the morning of 9/6/09. The details are not finalized as it is just coming together, but we have HUGE plans!

Swim Race for DickDime & Julia

Registration starts at 7:00 a.m.

Race starts at 8:00 a.m.

Distances 1/2 mile, 2 mile, 3 mile

Location: 7255 West Grant Ranch Boulevard, Littleton, CO 80123

Charitable Donation: $25.00

We will have amazing give aways for race participants, and a silent auction with incredible items that were donated already by generous sponsors.

Things like:  

Season pass to Grant Ranch Lake ($125.00) 
3 months of tri coaching
Bicycle Village is giving a $100 gift certificate,
GU is sending product as is Specialized,
Yanks will send items,
USAT will make a donation, 
beginnertriathlete.com is giving 4 -6 month subscriptions,
Saris is sending a trainer,

This is only part of the offerings we are gathering to raise funds.  Any suggestions for fundraising or tri related goods that can be donated to the cause are welcome!

We expect to have an online auction, as well as the silent auction onsite for people who are out of town and wish to participate in the giving!

I'm planning to be there. Although I think I will opt for the 1/2 mile distance. If there was a 1 mile distance, I'd do that, but I doubt anyone wants to wait around for me to finish 2 miles! Tongue out

I want to find out if I can swim 3 miles, I know Richard would want me to.  I will have to swim close to shore on that last mile!

I am working on getting some Pearl Izumi gear donated from my friend Mindy as well as a gift card or two from Niketown runclub. I will also try to hit up Frank at the Irish Snug run club because Richard was a member when he lived here in town.

Thanks from the bottom of my heart for your efforts! Please don't worry if you can't get hese things for the event on 9/6. I am planning a huge benefit bike ride, and likely a car poker run so there will be a need for many more things to gift for our fundraising effort.

Wellbridge is on board and will give something for the auction - not sure yet but they will contact mile high multisport per the email I received this am.
In addition I and Kristin have sent an email to all of the group instructors, spin instructors, Colorado Athletic Club Tirathlon club members and others who might have resources to help and or participate in the event.
I am just telling everyone I know who may be able to help.

Hi all!  Please let me know if you plan on attending this event and if you are interested in volunteering at the event.  Pete Alfino is organizing the swim and needs volunteers for lots of different things.  You can do both the swim and volunteer.  SO please let me know as I need to get the list to Pete Alfino ASAP!
