Surely she can suck it up for a 5k and sprint it. Question will be more if I can after all these higher mileage weeks I've been clocking. I do need to do a race. . . I should be able to run the 5K and still get to his class on time. He'd be so excited with everyone else running that, as with every group run we've done, he'd be pulling me trying to get to the front. Might as well wear down some of his overzealous energy before class. Ain't like a 5K is too much distance for him, he's been doing more than that with me all week and looking for more. Karen, I have no doubt he could outrun your ridgeback  Not that I'm biased or anything. I just don't know if I can outrun you. |

I happen to own the only dog on the planet that does't like Peanut Butter. So her short legs are going to need the help...it's looking like. We started our first day of 5K training this morning! Look out you guys. 1.2 miles in 10:23. Now we just have to work on cutting out those sniff breaks. |

Not bringing my dogs though, cause they would collapse and die after the first 100 meters :-) It's a great little course. Out and back. Flat and fast.... Great cause too! |

Strega does all the miles I do with few exceptions, including training for ultra-distances and sometimes gets some speed-work when I let him off leash to chase me on my mountain bike on the Pinhoti. He's got speed and stamina licked, and he said to tell your Ridgeback he can run a 5K uphill pulling me on a bike and still win  (hey, I'm slow, I gotta use my dog to get away with smack talk!) |

She can hang out with my only cat on the planet that doesn't like tunafish.. comes running every time I open a can, stands their screaming, put some on the floor for her, and walks away.. This would be awesome to do my dog loves to run but is a terror running on the leash right now. That and I'm just finishing up my PT and back barely running don't want to hurt myself 3 weeks out of my first tri. Running with her is one of the things I plan to start on as soon as I am set running by myself again. |
