That will be my first Olympic race!

If someone decides to rent a house, count me in. I'm not good at planning, but I'm good at throwing in money when someone else plans.

Send me a PM whenever you need to set up all the nitty gritty details.

So give us the scoop: what makes this the "official" BT triathlon? Are there going to be special BT- only events in association with the race?

What is the limit on participants in each event? I'm about 90% in at this time, but October is a loooong ways away...

I'm on the fence for this one.  My season is pretty full and money is pretty tight.  But it sounds like it is going to be a great time.

Plus, it looks like River Cities may be a bust for me, as we have to drive to New Braunfels to pick Madison up from camp on Saturday the 2nd.  Not sure I can make it from there to Shreveport in time for packet pick up.

Figures. I propose a BT Beach house for Lonestar and I hear nothing but crickets. For Hi-Fi, when I can't be there, people are all over it. *sigh*

Hi-Fi will be my first Olympic too. I didn't get to meet any of you guys at Lonestar, but would love to be with the BT crowd!

I am not racing, but have some information on the local beach house rental agencies from the Lonestar BT Beachouse 2007.  Once you guys get organized and know who will be setting up the beachouse, I can forward the information.

This is my "A" race this year and only my second Oly ever. The last one was with Team In Training in 2004 (St. Anthony's in FL). I am so excited about this one! My goal is to go 3:10:00 or faster- maybe even sub 3 hours. We'll see as training gets closer. Who has done it and can give some perspective on it? I've read race reports and that's helped.

We are staying at Moody Gardens and then stay one more night to have a little family vacation. My folks will be there as well (from Houston).  Any tips for spectators on this one?

Hey hey hey!  My hubby and I just decided to do this race - woo hoo!  It will be his first tri after recovering from ACL reconstruction last year.  He's planning on doing the sprint, and I think I'll do the sprint with him.  Should be tons of fun - can't wait to get to Galveston again...I think we'll leave the kiddos with Grammie this time and have some quality time to ourselves.

Kari - assuming that the setup will be similar to the Lonestar, this is a great spectator race.  If you stay near the transition area/finish line, you can see the swim finish, transitions, and a few points in the run.  Should be no problems at all!

Below is a list of links to beachhouse rentals.... The closest subdivisions are Pirates Beach, Pirates Cove and Palm Beach.  Good luck - don't think we will make it this year.  Hope the links are helpful.

Id like to sign up for this race..but money is a little tight now so i cant really sign up till sept.  Is there a field limit?  And if so has it filled up yet for the Sprint?

Thanks

Errr I just noticed the bike is only 31km? That sucks.

Or now that I look back is that a mess up since it says the same for the sprint and oly?

I was also a bit miffed with the bike distance. I have been looking forward to doing a true Olympic for my last race this season. I guess I'm just going to have to kill it even more!!!
