There are several of us who need to lose our "summer weight" and shed 10 lbs. We thought it'd be fun to have a Colorado challenge to keep us motivated.

Who's in?  Any idea of guidelines? Time frame?

I'll play, although mine will probably end up being 8 lbs.

No great ideas on timeframe etc. Maybe have a weekly weigh in (posting on this thread)?

Can I play?  I need to lose about 20 lbs.  October 1st is as good as any day, except I'll be in WI and not sure about computer access yet.....

Might be fun to set a Turkey Trot as an end date.

I'd be up for this, although I'll be lifting more in the off-season. So I might be more focused on body-fat %, but I could sure lose the weight as well.

The Turkey Trot (I assume that's the 27th?) sounds perfect...lose 10 lbs. right before the holidays start!  That averages a 2 - 3 lb./week loss, which seems about right...

I'd be in too!  I don't want to lose that much wt but still need a goal of some sort and some accountability.  I like the TT idea!  I'd also would still want to continue through the winter.  I also want to incorporate more strength training, at least for myself.

Most communities in CO will be having a Turkey Trot.  There are just a couple listed on the RacingColorado.com calendar right now, but I'm sure there will be more added right away.  I'll give the nudge to the race directors to confirm detail.  Longmont is a big one.

If Josh is in, I'm in,

After calf strains throughout the first 6 months of the year and finally being able to get some miles in, I need a race to focus all my running on.

Which Turkey Trot are we talking about?

10 lbs is really ambitious for me but I'll totally give it a shot. I'll stay tuned for rules and details

I'm in. With a 10 lb loss I might even set a new 5K turkey trot PR as a goal.

Ok. So the plan is to start on October 1st with the initial weigh in. You can post your weight, or not, whatever you're comfortable with. We'll weigh in on every Wednesday, with a new post under the Colorado board, stating how much weight we each lost. Each person sets their own weight loss goals.

We'll look for a Turkey Trot to do and call that the "Big Finale".

Does that work for everyone?

I may miss the very first post but otherwise it works for me.

P.S.  I see there is a TT in Wash Park on the 27th, also some the prior weekend...

I'll do it, too.  I know there's 10 lbs there, I just have no idea how I am going to part with it....this will help motivate.

Can I swap 10 lbs of whatever weight for 10 lbs of muscle? I can't afford to lose 10 lbs. or I'll be one of those too skinny people that my friend always says this about: "they look like they need to eat a cheeseburger!!"

Hey, if I go back to Monday the 15th and start then, I already have a 7 lb head start.

Then again I would not recommend my methods (or wish them) to anyone Frown

I could gladly target 198!!
