Subject: Aero Bar lean

So yesterday I was on the trainer waiting for the school bus.  I don't have aero bars on my bike, but hey I am in the trainer.  So I leaned over and placed my forarms just below my elbows on the bars.  I felt some real quick discomfort as my balls went in different directions.  Sit up sift (not gears) and try again.  Again, but hey I kept at it.

I was going to try moving my seat around, or maybe I am to far forward or something.  Any suggestions on this.  I can't see buying clip on bars this time of year.  Am I just wasting my time?

First, the elbow pads are usually an inch or more higher than the base bar.  You could be leaning over way to far for what's comfortable - Crunching the angle between your upper body and lower body.

When you get aerobars, you should get fit from them.  That should solve the problem.  It's a little more than taking existing setup and slapping aero bars on them.  Your seat position, stem, and handlebar rise may change as well.

Real triathletes have only figurative 'nads as the real ones just get in the way. It's a small price to pay for success, and if the SBR thing doesn't work out you can always find employment guarding a harem.
