Hood cover thingy on my bike?

Yes, that's the technical term!  Well, actually no it's not and I suspect that may be why I'm having trouble finding anything about it online. 

Yesterday as I was about 10 miles from finishing my ride up Vail Pass I noticed that the little plastic part that covers the hood tip (where it usually says what type of component you have) was loose.  I was trying to hold on to it gently as I rode and then had to do some negotiation to get into the left turn lane about a mile out and it came off.  In the middle of the street.  Went back for it and the last car to go by before I could grab it ran over it.   So, while it doesn't appear to affect use really it looks kinda ghetto and I don't want all sorts of dirt etc getting in there either. 

So,  anyone know what that part would be called? And maybe whether or not I can order a replacement?  What a stupid thing to be dealing with.  Argh!!!!
