Master  1915    Hamilton, Victoria |  Subject: 700x23C vs 700x20CWhat is the difference between the 23mm and 20mm road tyres that are available? Obviously there is the issue of width, but in terms of handling / performance / longevity, etc is there a real difference. Should I stick to the 23C or can I try the 20C option?? Any thoughts or suggections will be gratefully received. For the record I am riding Mavic Aksium wheels and I am currently runnign Vittoria Rubino Pro Slicks 700x23C adn was lookign at a 20C option. Oh yeah, I am a clydesdale... |

| 24 | Subject: RE: 700x23C vs 700x20C For a larger guy 20c may be too small. Rolling resistance is less but there will be a harshness penalty. And at your size you may be more prone to flats or even rim damage. Stick with 23 or train on 25 and use 23 for races. |

Veteran 247 CA | Subject: RE: 700x23C vs 700x20C Did some research on 20c tires a while back - all I found was ill-regard and negative reviews. It's probably why you don't see more manufacturers offering 20c tires as well. Stick with 23c. |
