Subject: RE: Hip soreness / painI've suffered with hip pain from running...and it wasn't even long runs, either. My pain originated right on the iliac crest (hip bone ), and was very tender to the touch. I had to cut back on running for a short while, because it hurt even just to walk. I started doing IT band stretches (even though I'm not really sure that is what the cause was ) and luckily for me, they helped tremendously. I did some reading up on ITBS, and while many people with it complain of lateral knee pain...there is a small percentage of people that get hip pain from it, too. I would try the ITB stretches, along with massaging the area using a foam roller. |
