Subject: Nordic goddess???

Need opinions!  Bring it on, I can take it!

 So got my new bike, love it.  My new bike wants a play date with girlwith1nose's new bike.  We chose the spooky duathlon.  Decided to dress as nordic kick-a$$ goddess chicks after some viking horns became available for our helmets from our mtb team members (yes, we hounds definitely have a fun side).  So looking forward to just riding for fun, no pressure.

 Here is my dilemma.  I went on 3D's website to register on Friday but did not have my USAT number available and the price was $40, went to register with USAT # in hand on Sunday and the price went up to $50.  There was no deadline posted ANYWHERE on there website or active.com.  I emailed 3D and got a response that, typically the prices increase 2 weeks before the event.  I did point out that many of the other events indicate a price increase deadline and this one did not.  I think, once again, that this is VERY POOR customer service.  I have a real issue with handing them any extra money and rewarding this very poor behavior. 

Should I du it or stand by my principles?

Sounds shady if there was no price increase schedule. I guess it depends on how bad you want to do the race. Honestly, it wouldn't bother me that much, but I'd be a bit miffed.

Besides, you get to dress up for a race, too much fun to miss!

I just called and left a message with 3D....I expressed my hope that you could use the free entry I won at Carls for the du...I referenced your name and the email in the message...I am hopeful that someone will call back in the next day or two and give me an update.

Don't register yet cavesister! We may get you a freebie and horns!!!

If its listed on the website as $40, it should be $40 regardless of what happens "customarily."  You don't go into a store and buy something for 40 bucks and walk away happy after being charged 50 because the store decided they wanted to charge more.  IMO, that's crap and a crappy excuse.... seems that this is just another oversight by 3D organizers.  Its sad that these keep adding up.

That said, racing with your pals and having fun might be worth the $10 overcharge.  You might register for the race and send an email back to the RD letting him know that you think its poor customer service and you will be telling your friends.

Kenny from 3D won't give a crap.  He fly's off the handle first and is a real piece of work until he understands what is going on.  He always assumes the worst before bothering to listen to the whole problem.  I'm about fed up with 3D's attitude, screw ups and excuses.  I will only be racing a very select few races of theirs next year.  You never get what is listed on the website, every race has issues and what's with no finishers medals at most of their events?

*(end rant)*

ok on a positive note.  To go get crazy at a race with friends I'd just write the $10 off and make sure I just get $10 more worth of crazy at the race
