I cannot comment on the ironman series but I have a multisport 700, 02 model, and absolutely love it. Cannondale has a very nice product. If it fits you and the price is right for the condition of the bike I wouldn't hesitate to go for it.

My .02 for free!

Good luck.

I ride on a Cannondale Multisport 2000 and have been very happy. (It was/is my first tri bike, so I really have nothing to compare it to).

I also ride the 2002 multisport 700.  I love it but also have no other bike to compare it to.

I have owned and a 2005 IM 2000, used it for daily training, occasional commuting, centuries and tri's (up to 1/2 Iron) distance.  It is a great solid bike, way more bike than my puny legs deserve.  I've had zero mechanical issues, other than replacing tires and tubes.  I took it back to the dealer after the first year for service, other than that it has not been in the shop for anything.

I say go for it, IF IT FITS YOU!!!!
