Subject: RE: Training ride tomorrow morning (9/6/09).....anyone?Dave, i'll definitely let you know. Brue, I guess the word "hill" is relative, but I will say that on the way out, there was one hill that we got up to 44 mph going down. That's what my computer said anyways. The other guys were saying their computers were reading 46 mph. I rode an abreviated version of the course we rode today last November. On the way back I was walking my bike up that same hill during that ride. However, today I rode it. I was in the small ring, granny gear, but rode it none the less. The majority of the hills were on Sycamore Rd. I'm pretty sure it's a popular course because our entire route was marked with arrows on the pavement. There were 6 of us riding today. Myself and one other guy were the weakest riders of the group. He dropped totally out of the ride at mile 40, so I was left to be the weakest link. I was able to keep them in sight, but they dropped me on every hill. Those guys ride that course all the time, which i'm sure makes a difference. |
