Is anyone using compression socks or planning to race with them in Tempe?  I have been considering them, but have never used them.  If you have any input, good or bad, I would appreciate it.

Thanks

The best things ever invented for Ironman.  Although I wouldn't wear them in the swim.

I've been doing marathon training in them and have found them to make a huge difference. I don't have even close to the level of leg fatigue or pain that I've experienced in the past. I'm running in the 2XU compression sleeves and wearing regular socks, then wearing the 2XU recovery socks the night before and after a race or long run. I'd like to try the Sugoi R&R socks as well.

I've got the 2XU brand and I love them.  I plan on wearing them for my winter marathon and IMKY next year.

I used a pair in the Gulf Coast this spring (I think they are Zensa) Iwore them on the bike and for the run and except for a ribbing by other runners, the worked very nicely.

It was my first 1/2 and I had a very hard run but not because my legs were fatigued, the next day I had little or no discomfort.

I plan on using them in IMFL

 Good Luck

What difference have you noticed?  Longer to fatigue, legs are not as sore when you wake up?  Have your race times come down as a result?

I'm asking because I'm curious.  I've been looking at them but dont' want to jump on the bandwagon just because it's there.

I like them conceptualy for recovery, I don't see them having any race benefit.

I have found the Skinz compression tights to be great for recovery. For me, I find that my legs don't feel as fatigued, tight and 'heavy' following a hard workout the next day. It's similar but better than an ice bath in terms of recovery. I can tell a huge difference in the morning after wearing them.
