I'm doing my first marathon on Sunday and was just wondering if anyone had ever done it or plans to do it?

Welcome to BT.

I'm planning on running the Spokane Marathon on Sunday.  I've done it a few times before.  I like this race but it is very easy to go out too fast and then have to pay for it at the end.

I will be over for the half. After 3 months of no real (read: any) training a full would have been suicide. The half will just be torture.

I have never done this race but am familiar with the course. Keep mile 22 in the back of your mind. Little hill to deal with there.

Have a great race and welcome to BT!

I like the name of that area where Mile marker 22 is.

Welcome, again, to BT.  I'll be downtown for the 1/2 on Sunday as well.  Good luck in your race!

Oh...and yeah, remember mile 22.

Thanks for the welcome and the advice.  I know all about Doomsday hill having ran Bloomsday plenty of times.  I imagine it's a little easier at mile 5 than 22 though.

Well If finished and I have to say I had a lot of fun.  I really took up running at the beginning of July after signing up for IMCDA.  I didn't know what to expect coming into the race.  The farthest training run I had done was 15 miles and It took 2:06.  I thought a good goal would be about 4:15 to 4:20.  However, I felt really good the whole race and finished in 3:22.  I got second in my age group!  I couldn't have been happier with the final results.
