Well, I didn't want to sign up for the Philly marathon until after last weeks training because of the big increase in mileage I was going to be doing. Everything feels pretty good and I was ready to sign up and now I see it's filled

I found a marathon in Rohobeth DE that's the day before which I might do.

Any others in the NE that anyone knows about?

If it makes you feel any better, I was holding off on signing up for a mary that is next week to make sure my training was sound. Found out there was a deadline imposed due to the numbers registered. Signed up earlier than I wanted, and now I have opted down to a 1/2 since my training was not what it should be. Oh well. Looks like I will be able to pull at least the 1/2 together ok on Sunday.

Harrisburg, which is the weekend before Philly, is really cheap (like $50-$60).  Also Richmond, also that same weekend, is supposed to be a great marathon.  And there is the B&A Trail Marathon in MD that Daremo has done, that is a couple of days after Thanksgiving.

Is the race over?  If not, call the R.D. and see if they can get you in.

There was a triathlon I wanted to do around here that was sold out.  I emailed the R.D. telling him how I had done the race in the past, it was one of my favorites, that I trained for it, is the ANY way to let me in.

They had a "secret" back door website that I could still sign up and they allowed it.

I NEVER hurts to just ask nicely...

I was contemplating the Rehobeth one, because it looks decent.  Unfortunately, I don't think I can make it.

At least they let you drop down. I signed up for the GR marry and my training was not so much (it would even be hard to run a good half right now) but because I know the RD he wont let me drop down. Hes tells me to suck it up and run the full. So that's what I'm going to do. The RD stands at the finish line from the first runner to the last. So I'm going to make him stand there all damn day. lol

Procrastination is like masturbation. You're only screwing yourself.

There's the Richmond Marathon in VA on 11/15 that might work.  I actually chose it over Philly because it was a mid-size race.
