Wow these challenges are working for me!   Any ideas for a January challenge?  Seems we lost people when we went up to 45 min a day shall we go back to 30 min?   Anyways I think we should challenge for continued consistency.

I'm kinda bored of that challenge. Why not start a new different type of challenge - maybe a challenge to do crunches or something? Or a push-up/sit-up combo?

I don't think it's the 45 mins thing so much as general December business and illness.

I'm still working on the pushups challenge, and Steve's creating a new situps challenge but I don't know it's going to be ready.

I'm up for any kind of challenge - it always motivated me. But once January rolls around, I have to start focussing on a specific training plan so I will take that into consideration.

I too had no problem with 45 min. but the daily posting got kind of redundant for me.

I like the pushup/situp challenge idea. Maybe we could make a weekly post and group it all into there.

Yes I stopped posting daily too so OK let's do a push-up/core challenge with a weekly total.  1 point per pushup and 1 point per crunch plus some sort of bonus for 7 consecutive days maybe?

Sure, the points thing works. It'll be good for consistency as well - ie. easier to get more points. Maybe it should be a 20 point bonus or 7 consecutive days??? Too high/low?

I'm back!

After a LONG break I'm back on the internet and back at training.

My december challenge fell apart due to some family issues (Grandma passing away), and since I was in Vermont/Campbell River I had limited access to the internet.

Regardless, I'm back and ready to start a January challenge (albeit late)!  Since the weather in Vermont was down to -15 Fahrenheit constantly, I couldnt run, so I did 70 pushups a day while I was there (usually 35 at a time, then 35 later in the day).  I've kept this going throughout this week so far, and will post in my Training log.

My question now is if we have goals for points each week?  I'll log my pushups (70x7 = 490 pts. + Bonus (?)).  If we have goals I want to get at least 1000 pts. per week.  I'm going to say that this week started on Monday (Jan. 5th) and will end on Jan. 11th.  Should we just post our point total on the last day?

Hope everyone is doing well and had a relaxing holiday!

 Derek

Hey Derek, welcome back! Sorry to hear about your Grandma. But glad you had some good time off.

I think we'll do weekly check ins to see how everyone is doing and then have a month end finale.
