Ok, I may be slow on the uptake and many of you may have found this update, but I found a cool update to the Garmin.  I have a 305.  It is slow to synch up before a run.  So, I checked out the Garmin site for update.  Sure enough, there is a chip set update for the 305.  I down loaded it and it makes the thing synch up in 3 seconds v 30 or 60 seconds (or longer).  So, I would suggest you upgrade if you have not.

Also, there is an update to the firmware for the 305.  I am not sure what it did to enhance, but always a good idea to keep it up to date.

Was this the name of it: Forerunner 205/305 GPS Chipset?

Or was it the Unit Software update (the one new as of this year)?  I'm guessing it's the former by worth double-checking...

Used the Garmin Weupdater to dowloand/install. Seems quicker.
