I am ten weeks out for my first Im and I have a strained groin muscle. I can run through the pain but I have a lot of problems with it the next day. Any advice? I dont want to just lay off of it and lose precious training time.

Massage/ART, rest, ice, stretch. Also, has the injury been confirmed? You can get referred groin pain from other injuries as well. Take care of your lower back.

UGHHH DO NOT mess with a groin injury.  Rest, rest, rest, and rest some more.  Go to your Dr if you haven't already.

I made the mistake of running for a week with a groin pull in HS while I was wrestling.  12 years later and it can still bother me...

Back off of the running. Still bike and swim if it doesn't aggravate the injury. Sometimes injuries are your friend as you find out some down time a month or two before the race actually helps you.

I will echo what everyone has said and get it checked out. I thought I had a groin injury twice. I really had a femoral neck stress fracture. It feels like a nasty dull ache in your groin that ebbs and flows with pain. Don't just run through it...get it checked out! Good luck...

I had a few groin injurys training for ironman. My PT gave me some core exercises and I stopped pulling my groin. Go get professional help with this issue or it could plague you for months.

I have not been to a Dr. yet but I am not sure it is my groin. It hurts when I run but it does not hurt when I do the butterfly stretch. Someone said if it was a groin it would hurt when I did the butterfly stretch.
