Also I read that Lance got a stress fracture during the NYC Marathon.  Or he had one and it just got worse during the race.

This would be great for mountain biking and cycling in general if it features a healthy and well prepared Armstrong and an exonerated Landis. We can only hope.

Well, it's a great escuse to go to Leadville and July and watch! Puttign it on TV would make all the focus and Lance and Floyd and take away all of the glory from all the ordinary people who have been working hard and training to do this race for years. Just like when they televise IronMan or Escape from Alcatraz...all the coverage goes to the first 3 people in the race, plus a few random interestnig stories.

Just take a vacation in the Rockies and go see it in person. Better yet, enter the lottery.

Actually, I'm on a leadville 100 email list and people are pissed they this was announced b/c the lottery hasn't happened yet...and it's an all lottery race, there are no qualifying spots. I'm sure thye will make an extra 2 slots for lance and floyd...

Leadville is a cute little town if there ever was a cute little former lead mining town...

and I am way overdue on a visit to the Rockies.  My Denver U alum status feels in jeaporady since I've not been back to campus in over *gasp* 10 years

(was college really that long ago?!)

 Anyway, this is all to say:  yeah, let's all go to Leadville to see my two fave cycling heroes!

Just my 2 cents. Yes Lance is the greatest of all time. I think Landis would beat Lance in a MTB race. If Floyd's hip is near 100%, which apparently he has it resurfaced this year I believe he would win. Why? Landis comes from a MTB background. He was racing MTB before he ever got into road racing.
