So um... what day do we weigh in on?

I'm nervous about this... I've watched Triathlete friends for over a decade, not believing I could do it too. In the mean time I've gained a lot of weight and am a proud new mamma. But I can't blame the weight on my babes, it was there before they came. But enough is enough. It's time. I feel like I'm about to fight an uphill battle that I might give up. Read, I fear failure, so sometimes I don't try. SOOOOO.... I need some major accountability. Please ask me how I'm doing!

Goals: complete Try-a-tri, or mini-tri Summer 2009

Current Weight: 210

Goal Weight for Christmas:198

Welcome!!!!  Your goal is totally achievable......you can do it!!  Signing up for races is a great way to hold yourself accountable and keep yourself motivated.

I never thought I was capable of anything like this either.  I did my first tri 10 months ago, my sixth yesterday, and I'm doing a half ironman in 5 weeks.  Triathlon can be life-changing once you succumb to the lifestyle.

That's my goal too!  I have a friend who competes and he is totally addicted.  Plus my husband has done one or two before.  I am getting my encouragement from the forums more than anything.  Plus having that goal and telling people what it is has made me more accountable to sticking with the routine.  I am getting over a life changing illness and decided for a total life change.  It's funny how sickness makes you reevalutae your place in the world.  So now, I am really excited about losing weight, and getting back into shape.  I know, it'll be a hard journey but I keep focusing on what I will be like in a year from now.

By the way, they have some great training plans on this site.  Right now, I am working on the Couch potato to 5k in 16 weeks plan. (gotta run today as a matter of fact)

Hey if I'm here, anybody can be here.

I have bad knees and said I'd never ever run.  I've started a running program and I'm doing fairly well!  I am doing a 5k in 2 months.

I am a big scaredy cat and said you'd NEVER see me on a bike.  I bought a bike, I've been  practicing.  The first time I took my 2 feet from the ground and put them both on the pedals was a miracle.  I'm getting better at riding although it still makes me a bit nervous.

I took swim lessons as a kid and had gone snorkeling but had never really swam.  I got a pool pass and started swimming laps.  The first couple times were iffy but I've been practicing and I've gotten better.
