Today is opening registration day for the MS150 Houston to Austin. I was shocked to see that the fee has gone up to $100!!!

I have done this ride 10 years in a row, and Mrs Fish has done it 8 years in a row, only to miss it last year while I was doing IMAZ. I have always been a big supporter of this ride, but why $100? It has never been this high before. The transportation fee is still reasonable at $35 for a bus ride home, but $100??

It would be $270 for us both to do the ride (including a ride home). IMHO, this is way too much for an MS150.

Although, if you want to do it, better hurry, it looks like a lot of people don’t agree with me on this. I checked the site at 12:20:

Progress: 64%
Registrations: 8324     Goal: 13000

I think we will still make a donation, I agree with the cause.

Last year's reg was $75 so I can see it going up $25 with the way prices on everything else have been going up lately.  I agree though, it is expensive, as my husband also does the ride, we fortunately do not need transport back to Houston so that helps a little

Probably set a new record for sign up as it was closed at 3:05pm.

Last year it filled in 6 days.  It is an awesome ride

That stinks.  I personally wish registration was $0 with a higher commitment total.  That way you could get people to sponsor your registration fee also.

I guess with this locations ride, it sells out so quickly they figure they can raise the price and people will still pay it.

Incredible - the ride reached capacity within 7 hours of registration opening. My husband did the ride this year, and was trying to decide about next year, but guess his decision has now been made for him.

Which MS150 are you talking about?

The one from Dallas to Ft. Worth was only like $25 last year, and it never filled up from what I could tell.

This is the Houston to Austin MS150. I have done this ride 4 times and have had wonderful experience each time. This year I will be partaking in the Frisco to Fort Worth ride - not sure why I never did this before.... I live it Frisco!

Im sure RBM had the largest team, but does anybody have other options for a great team to sign up for. I am looking to camp at TMS (apart of the ambiance), so the team will have to be big enough for a corporate tent and have food provided!

Bike mart is definately up there.  I did the ride in '07 on their team and they got to start 3rd I believe on day 1.  I believe they go by $$ raised by the team to determine order.  I believe the 1st team was Elks something or other and then Sam's.

There are alot of teams though.  Basically all the local bike shops have teams and I think Dallas Athletes had a team as well.
