Last year and so far this year, I record the early morning coverage and watch it at night.  However, I find that it's a LOT of TV.  Then they say there is 'bonus' coverage at night which seems to just show the same stuff (but it IS shorter).

So is the late night stuff better than the morning show?  Do you miss much?  How is the bonus coverage?

I think I like the morning also because I enjoy Phil and Paul over Bob and Robbie.

I'm out of town and away from my big screen for 10 weeks so I'm stuck watching whatever cyclingfans.com chooses to show me live.  I hate getting up early to watch as I'd rather watch it over dinner when I come home but I'll take what I can get.

The video quality of the free coverage isn't amazing but it works. You can also pay 3 bucks a day or 35 bucks for the whole tour to get it in high quality.

Can you link to where you can buy the coverage on the website? It may be obvious and I'm just not seeing it... Would be great to get this in HQ.

I Tivo it in the morning on Versus and watch it when I can during the day or evening, I zip through the commercials and boring bits. Yesterday I had to catch the end from the night coverage because the Tivo programming got cut off at the end.

It says on the site they have on-demand video too - do you know what exactly is on-demand?  is it the entire stages, the 3-hr highlights, recaps or what?

Yeah, me too.  I ended up modifying the recording times to record an extra 60 minutes because this happened a lot last year.  I have to be carefull to keep up with watching becuase HD recordings take up a LOT of space on the DVR.  Especially at 3-4 hours a pop.

I Tivo the Live Bcast and watch it when I get home.  I also record it w/ an extra 1.5 hours.  But thats the same time I use when recording football so I usually have the space available, just not for multiple recordings.  Occasionally, I put it on the 'X2 fast play' and zip through some of the middle parts.

Last year it wasnt it HD so it wasnt a big deal.  Now it is so it takes up a lot more time.  I do like the HD coverage though.  Makes the french countryside even more stunning w/ the castles and chateaus.
