Anyone else's training suffering?

I'm trying to keep the fluid intake going strong and cold showers are glorious, but woah I feel completely tapped/sapped and spat out by mother nature. Looks like early morning sessions are in order the next few days.

Now triple your humidity and you have a regular day down here.

I spent two weeks camping in the Utah desert last month and had to reacclimate to our climate for a few days before I could train comfortably again. Those who live in a dry climate and come down here to race have my respect.

I know, this heat is ridiculous.  True, I realize the rest of the country deals with it all the time, but it's Portland.  I'm fine with the rain and cold, but this is a lot.  My training has been suffering.  Slower and shorter run times for sure.  Though I've been getting in a lot more swimming than usual.  So maybe it evens out.

Early bird gets the worm! Although in Central Oregon, we get away with it still being pretty cool at about 8am. I love Bend.

I just got back a half hour ago from a 2 hour ride. It was 95 at 11:30 AM! Hard to find enough water on my customary rides. I'm glad it will be cooler for the Midsummer tri this weekend

I'm hoping for a couple good nights sleep before the weekend! Otherwise race is not going to be pretty. Blue Lake must be a bath tub by now.

Was up at 5:00 am for a early morning ride.  Felt pretty good even at 72 degrees and riding in and out of cool and warm air.  Had to wait until about 5:30 am to go due to no light set-up on the bike.  Didn't want to get hit from not being seen.  Will go out tomorrow morning around 6:00 am for my run.

See you at Mid-Summer!!!
