Subject: Looking for a Running Partner for Speed Work!

Hey, I'm new on this site and thought...what better place to find some similar-paced triathletes to meet for weekly speed work.  I love all this tri stuff...but I've just gotten to the point where I find it hard to enjoy training all alone for the harder workouts.  I could use some extra motivation...and someone else to help make it fun (especially when it's painful like speed work!).

Is anyone doing track workouts with repeates at these speeds (or preferably faster) that would like a training partner 1 day a week (or more for other focused run workouts)?:

400's:  1:35 or faster

800's: 3:10 or faster

1200's: 4:45 or faster

1 mile: 6:00-6:20

I'm no help b/c I'm slower, but you should post where you are or where you train...or where you're willing to drive to train.

And welcome to BT!

Hey Elaine!  Where are you training?  I know my run workload will be including lots of speed work on my build up to Clearwater.

As CM mentioned, Depends on where you are training. There are a few of us who are always up for some good speedwork. Although I am racing Chicago in 2 weeks.

I did not list locations since I'll go most anywhere to meet a fast and consistent running partner who can push me to improve, and make workouts more enjoyable!  I work in Roswell, so I mostly train in the Alpharetta/Roswell areas....but again, very open!

What are you training for?

.. or is this base speed you're trying to build?

I think I can approach that pace (on a good day) but after Nov 8th Mary I am looking to focus on some speedwork and live in roswell.
