Has anyone ever attended one of these clinics? and if so any/all comments woud be greatly appreciated

Yes, an unlike almost all other people who will post my experiene was not a great one.  I was too new to swimming to have it be useful. At the time I did the two day clinic, I could swim 25 yards, but it wasn't pretty. The rest of my class all had done at least one tri and were far better than me.  I could not pick up the drills as quickly and floundered my second day. 

 I cannot tell from your logs (I know you are new so start logging!), but if you are totally new to swimming I would get comfortable with the experience first.

Sorry you had a bad experience minnow.

I've yet to do it, but I do have the book and the DVD.  The book helped quite a bit when I was a noob and the DVD helped even more .  Also, I think minnow has a good point about experience.  My 2 cents... get the book or DVD.
