Subject: pre or post race weigh in?
I weigh around 205, so I always sign up for the clydesdale div. When I finish a long race, I usually weigh less than 200 lbs. Is it your pre-race or post-race weight that determines your division?

Most races assume that people sign up as a Clydesdale honestly.  The ones where I have been weighed were always done before the race at packet pickup.

Every Clydesdale/Athena race that I've run in, have the weigh-in BEFORE the race. Clydesdales and Athenas in my area must not be very trustworthy and honest, because the weigh-ins are always MANDATORY.

I have never been weighed but it could be either in theory.  The practical application would be to weigh in before because on the longer events you could lose 7% of body weight (14.35lbs).  Technically you could lose greater than 10% although you would likely be very sick.  However someone could protest your eligibility and that would trigger a post race weigh-in.  What the protest comittee would do with that is impossible to say.  They could go either way.  My guess is that they would err on the side of eligibility and weigh a variety of factors in their decision.

If you are honest about your weight then it shouldn't be an issue.  If you are dishonest then you are.  Since you asked the question I'm sure you are the former so I wouldn't sweat it although if you are hitting the podium you are more at risk for the protest.  You could always see the RD ahead of time and weigh in with them (even if you bring your own scale) at packet pickup that way you are 100% covered.
