I'm looking to do a 70.3 next year at some point and possibly a 140.6 (depending on training, time, etc).

One that is circled already is the Longhorn.

Any suggestions on other races that are not 'Ironman' affiliated (strictly from a cost stand point).

I've looked on several websites but obviously the 2009 schedules aren't posted yet but I was also looking for suggestions/personal preferences on races that y'all have done.

Another 'limiter'.....looking for races in the Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana area.

Redman in OK for either HIM or IM.

Lonestar tri down in Galveston for HIM if it goes on again due to Ike. Supposedly it is still on.

Prairieman locally if you want a pretty tough HIM. Course is easy and flat but heat and lack of shade can make the run pretty brutal.

I've heard that the RD is a head case though.

That's a 'maybe' on the list as I don't know if I'll be prepared by that time.

I'm holding out for Ironman Texas put on by Endorfun in 2010.

Redman in OKC is a great race at the end of Sept. HIM or IM distances. Some of the best aid stations ever.
