Subject: Safe to do 86 miles back to back?I've been off of training since mid August, but I've been riding 16.6 miles round trip to work every day (or at least as much as I can - given I work close to where we hold meetings, sometimes I get to walk ). Plus I've been running some - sort of.
I've done a handful of long 4 1/2 hour rides for my HIM training, and have a century under my belt (101 miles ) along with another year of cycling before triathlon training.
If I were to ride 86 miles Saturday, and then again on Sunday (return trip ), am I gonna croak? I don't want to waste my time if I'm not going to make the trip. The trip isn't very hilly, except for the beginning.
So what do you all think? I'm only going to be bike commuting twice this week, since three days I'll be able to walk to work, so I figure I've got plenty of "taper" time.
Edit: This is probably pushing it, but I'm pondering even pushing it to a century. Edited by kevmk81 2008-10-07 8:46 PM
