Coming and looking for a bike!

I'm heading down to Port Charlotte area in November, going to see the parents new place. I'm hoping to find a used bike to buy for training purposes and leave it down there instead of carting my race bike from Canada all the way down. I've contacted a couple of local bike shops in Pt.Charlotte (aren't too many to choose from!) but haven't had any luck finding anything other than bikes with sora componentry.

I've been keeping an eye on Cragislist as well, but so far no bites on anything too high quality.

Any suggestions of places I should look, or anywhere I can contact?

I'll likely be heading up to Clearwater to watch the race on Nov 8th, and was thinking maybe I could make some kind of a deal up there, but I already posted that question elsewhere and folks seemed to be of the impression that folks didn't normally come to triathlon's to sell used gear, lol. Not that I've really ever seen that before anyway, I just thought on the off chance.
