Subject: magnet for bike computer

I received a free Minoura HyperRim ALU bike trainer with remote and hyberBrain computer.  I do not have the magnet that attaches to the spokes for the computer and Minoura does not support it any longer.    I have an inexpensive bike computer that has the magnet on the front tire spokes.   Can I use this same magnet for the hyperBrain or do you know where I could possibly purchase a replacement magnet?   I am not really prepared to purchase a new bike computer right now so would love to get this working if possible.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why not try the magnet you have to see if it works?

I was planning to give it a try just wasn't sure if it'll be a waste of time. Ideally, I would love to be able to have one magnet on the front for my bike computer and then add one to the back for the Hyperbrain so that I would not have to move it depending on whether it was on the trainer or if I was out riding it.

I think magnets are interchangeable, so the one you have should work.  if you need an extra, might want to check with your LBS to see if they have one laying around.  Or, check out the site's sponsors ...

Cateye Magnet at Trisports

Mavick Magnet at Trisports

They're only about $5 ...

A magnet is a magnet.  I change mine all the time.  I have a different one for all my wheels, mounted in the same spot on each, so no matter the wheels set I'm riding, the computer works.

Thanks everyone. I will give the magnet a try and am glad to read that I can always buy an extra one for a few dollars.
