Subject: new bars... don't fit my stem??
Hi

I have a motobecane nemesis with ritchey pro base, aerobars and stem. I recently purchased new profile design aluminum x aero and base bars. This evening, I dismantled the old bars which went rather smoothly, but then when I tried to mount my new bars on the stem, they do not fit.

What's the deal?

did you buy an OS bar? the new bars are often 31.5mm instead of the old 26.5 standard.

Not sure about the Ritchey bars, but I know the Alumin-X's are 31.8mm. So it would seem that your Ritchey bars are 26.0mm, as is the stem.

Then you'd need a new stem as well. Not a super-expensive proposition -- can be had for as low as $10 or upwards of $100 (carbon high-bling model).
