Tonight I actually finished 2nd in my age group in the Dash N Splash (2 mile run-150 yd swim) It was a smaller race, but it was nice to finally hear my name called. I also got a sweeeetttt towel that says Top Place Finisher!

This was a great way to end my season, except now I am so pumped to start training for next season!

Great job. I figure I have to compete until Im in the 80-85 year old bracket before that happens.

Congrats! Look for smaller venue races. I did a 5K a few weeks back and it was so small I got 1st in the 40-49 Male age group AND 3rd overall finisher w/the unlikely award winning time of 21:45. It is a great feeling, isn't it.

Congrats to you, too!

Also, bad weather is your friend. I got 3rd masters female in a 10k because it was cold and rainy that day so not many people showed up. My time wasn't even that great at 54:29. The top master's females will typically get a 46 minute time in this race. That was my first podium finish and I didn't even stick around for the awards ceremony. (lesson learned!)

I did the same thing at my 2nd tri this year. I placed 2nd in my AG and didn't know so I left halfway through the awards ceremony. They were nice enough to mail me my mug!
