Subject: Aid during a race?

Christie Wellington received C02 during Kona from another racer. Are you allowed to receive aid from another racer during a race?

165	Subject: RE: Aid during a race? Why doesn't that fall under the "unauthorized assistance" rule within USAT? I've had this called on me at a race for giving someone a spare tube. I'm confused unless they are giving exceptions at Kona. My Race Log

From my understanding, the answer is "No."

But I do not know whether or not WTC uses USAT rules during the WC or not. Either way, I don't think it would be a DQ offense, and even with a huge time penalty she still would easily win. But I think the 10 minutes on the side of the road futzing with her tire was penalty enough!!
