Drove past one this morning near 5 and 118  fwy , was spooky to see the sky lit up orange at night.

Not good . Hope The firefighters can knock it down quickly.

BIL is in Sunland but I think he is no longer in any danger today. (Sounds like the fire is in Little Tujunga and burning away from Sunland)

Just got back from a 30 mile ride...to Porter Ranch (and back), not knowing a fire had broken out there! Wow...what a scene!

(When she left for work, my wife told me to ride away from the fire in the NE Valley. When I stopped at Porter Ranch to watch things--and cuz I was almost blown off my bike crossing the 118 on Corbin--I called her to tell her that her "ride west" advice wasn't so good today.)

Nasty quartering/headwinds coming home (i.e., heading east, then south). Face actually had some soot on it when I got home.

that couldn't have been good for your lungs.  anyways, its also pretty nasty here on the westside, which will probably keep me from going for a run after work tonight.

I was feeling it in my chest and sinuses after the Hermosa tri yesterday- you could smell the smoke all the way down there.

I decided to peruse the CA forums to see if there were any talk of December races when I would be visiting my family. 

I talked to my parents last night, they aren't happy to see fires return yet again but they aren't in danger of evacuating (as opposed to last year).  I had some other relatives that did have to leave their homes but it seems as they were allowed to return to their homes this morning.
