Subject: Group rides in or near Alpharetta Area?
Wanted to know of any group rides in these areas that are still going on. (Only rides I know of are the Alpharetta City hall and Jittery Joes)

Thanks

From Reality Bikes website:

Sat. Webb Bridge Ride

55 miles

THERE ARE 2 OPTIONS FOR THIS RIDE.

Webb Bridge Ride, Alpharetta, GA 400 North to Old Milton, turn right (East). Follow Old Milton to North Point Pkwy and turn left. You will pass Lifetime Fitness. At the corner of North Point Pkwy and Webb Bridge is an office park on right through the intersection. Park there.

BOTH RIDES LEAVE AT 8AM (7AM DURING THE SUMMER)

A-GROUP RIDES MT.TABOR LOOP (20+MPH)

B-GROUP RIDES shorter version of the MT. TABOR LOOP 50 miles (18-20MPH)

Both of the Webb Bridge ride options are very "fast" - most of the cyclists are Cat 1-5-level/serious recreational cyclists and they play hard...

The Jittery Joe's ride just started up again two weeks ago (though I haven't been out there yet).  I rode this one quite a bit this past year and enjoyed it.  Good group (mix of triathletes and "roadies"), good base training pace, with route options that offered a nice mix of terrain.  They're riding a different route this fall/winter:

Not sure if the Alpharetta City Hall ride is still going...

Thanks for the info on the Webb Bridge ride...way over my ability.   My neighbor rode the Alpharetta City Hall ride this past Sunday at 12:45 so it is still going.

I did the Webb Bridge ride and (thankfully) rode with the B Group ... great group of people.  At one point I fell off the back; a guy went back to scoop me up and pull me back to the pack.

That said, it is not a slow ride. Being in the group helps, though, as you literally get sucked along into sustaining 18-20 mph - yet it feels like you are only pushing 16.

The ride we did was 55 miles and full of hills, where drafting is of little assistance.  Be prepared to climb strong enough to maintain contact with the group.
